    Diverse in which respect? Nationality? Concept? Language?

    By the way, is there any link to the conditions google set? This could come in handy as when we are to do proposals on how to reach things…

    Hi Benjamin,

    there are some guidelines concerning mission and team requirements.
    How to reach technical requirements isn´t stated clearly on purpose.

    Guidelines say about Diversity Bonus Prize: “…will be awarded to reward diversity of team membership and participation. Diversity of nationality, gender, ethnicity, and other factors may be considered.”

    We add there: innovation, motive force and sustainability.

    My diversity is in the occupation field. I am a student of theology, don’t know if there are too many around here ;) But on the other hand I do not know what I could bring into the project… you certainly don’t want your rover to place a sermon on the creation of the stars by God on the moon surface xD

    Diversity of teammembers and participants is meant. And yes, we have the competition rules in shortform and sorted for themes in our dropbox, but no link. We will fix it. Thanks for the advice.

    Hi

    I talked to some of you at CLT. I’m the guy from Switzerland, the one with the hint about Maxon.

    I’ve read the “documentation”, there are 2 difficulties:

    1. As far as I know, ultrasonic-sensors don’t work without air.
    2. Pneumatic systems are, at least on earth, nod closed, so you need allways some sort of an air source.

    Ich kann ‘dasdom’ nur zustimmen:

    Viele Links laufen hier auf Fehler. So der oben aufgeführte Link “Open Moon Bildung” aber auch einige andere auf Eurer Seite, so z.B:

    “http://www.openmoon.info/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/c-rove.png” unter TECHNOLOGY

    “http://wiki.openmoon.info/index.php/Projektplan unter TECHNOLOGY” usw.

    Insgesamt erscheint die Homepage – wenn Ihr mir die Offenheit verzeiht – eher amateurhaft. Das ist schade, da Ihr vermutlich gerade jetzt (aufgrund des Spiegel- Artikels) viele Hits habt.

    Auch würde ich mir mehr technische Informationen zu euren Plänen wünschen (nicht nur vom Rover). Nur wer ca. abschätzen kann, wer und was ihn erwartet wird sich aktiv beteiligen wollen (ein Grund, warum z.B. ich hier gelandet bin).

    Statt dessen erwarten den Besucher viele Hinweise zu besuchten Messen, Sponsoring etc.

    Anyway: Der Mut, solches anzugehen ist in jedem Falle bewundernswert! Insofern wünsche ich alles Gute & drücke meine Daumen!

    Hallo dasdom und PassBy(e)Anomaly,

    leider hatten und haben wir einige Probleme mit unserer Site:
    Zuerst wurde openmoon.info gehackt und wir mussten die Site neu aufsetzen,
    dann wurde unser wiki.openmoon.info derart zugespamt, dass wir es abschalten mussten.

    Leider sind einige tote Links übrig geblieben, die mir durchgerutscht sind.
    Vielen Dank für die Hinweise, ich werde ihnen nachgehen und die Links bereinigen.

    Vom wiki.openmoon sind wir auf commoonity.org umgezogen, um dort ein semantic wiki
    aufzumachen, in dem alle Teammember ihre Commoonitiys vorstellen und die Fortschritte dokumentieren.
    Leider gab es auf dem Server einen irreparablen Festplattencrash.
    Die Backupfiles waren leider alle corrupt und ließen sich nicht mehr einspielen.

    Die Neuinstallation stellt uns vor weitere Schwierigkeiten:
    Die Software für Commoonity.org läßt sich nicht von dem Debian System
    des VMWare Image auf unseren Debian Produktivserver kopieren.

    Falls ihr wisst oder jemanden kennt, der das VMWare Image auf unserem
    DebianSProduktivserver so ans Laufen bekommt, dass der Apache auf
    der VMWare Instanz mit der Domain http://www.commoonity.org verbunden werden kann,
    sind wir für jede Unterstützung dankbar.

    Wir haben in der Open Moon Team leider keinen professionellen Programmierer,
    der uns das fixen könnte, so dass wir ausprobieren müssen was geht.

    Wir entschuldigen uns für den momentan zugegebenermaßen unprofessionellen Auftritt und die Verzögerungen beim Fixen der Site.
